I know what it’s like to have a younger brother. Luckily for me I only have one younger sibling. Even though he’s younger than me he’s still the same height as me. It’s not always easy having a sibling, especially if their younger. I’ve been an older sister for 10 years and so far they’ve been good but also hard.
I still remember when my brother first came to my house, and I was excited but it didn’t last. For the first couple of years i didn’t like him very much. I don’t really know why but I’m pretty sure it's because he would have all my parents attention. But as I got older I liked him more and more, when he started kinder is when I became a little protective of him. As he got older he started to get annoying too. The first time i took care of him was one of hardest time i ever did. He didn't believe I was in charge so he would do whatever he wanted. Even up to this day he likes to do what he wants.
For the past 3 years me and my brother have been a lot closer than we were before, mostly because he’s gotten a little more responsible. Also it’s just been more fun to hang out with him too. Nowadays we can just talk about anything with each other because he understands more. Recently my brother has gotten a lot taller, he almost taller than me and I’m 4 years older than him! But for a while now being an older sister hasn’t been so bad as it has before. Mostly because my brother is more independent.
Sometimes I think that my brother and I have a bond because it’s only me and him. A reason why I think that is because most of the time he listens to me more than my mom or dad. Also when my mom tries to tell him to do something and he doesn't listen to her she tells me to handle him. And its been like that for a while now and because of that he gets a little more annoying than usual. So far he’s the only person I’ve actually gotten frustrated with. Sometimes it's easy being his sister but other times it's hard, especially when I have to help him with his homework. When I do it's one of most difficult things to do because he gets distracted very easily. And he just doesn't like to pay attention to what I say. He’s also very messy, so I'm always after him about picking up his stuff, and we both get annoyed of it. Overall being an older sister isn't that bad.
I know a lot of things, I especially know what it's like to be an older sibling and knowing how annoying it can be sometimes. Even if at points I don't what to know, I'm thankful I do. It's not always easy but nothing really is. So far being a sister is one of the most important things to me, especially trying to be a good sister and showing a good example to my brother. I hope that me and my brother can create good memories and not as many bad ones too.
